Getting Around Toulouse

Toulouse-Blagnac International Airport is 8km northwest of the city centre. There are over 30 flights daily to and from Paris. There are also daily or almost-daily flights to and from many other cities in France and Europe. A shuttle bus connects the airport and the city every 20 minutes.

The train station, Gare Matabiau is about 1km northeast of the city centre. Services run regularly to Bordeaux, Lourdes and Montauban. The modern bus station is just north of the train station. Bus and train links to other major cities, including Spanish cities, are plentiful.

To reach the city centre from the train station, the walk is twenty minutes or you can take the m├ętro to stop "Capitole". Although Toulouse public transport comprises a sleek, modern metro and bus network, you'll find the best way to get around the compact centre is often on foot.

You can also explore further afield with a one- or two-hour tour with English commentary in a tourist taxi to see the city's top attractions. During the summer months (Jun-Sep), meander through Toulouse's little streets aboard an electric tricycle, known as a cyclo-pousse. Or hop aboard the little tourist train, which departs from Place Charles de Gaulle (Jul-Sep).
