Tamworth Airport

Located on New Winton Road in the New South Wales city of Tamworth, the regional Tamworth Airport is just 10km west or a $27 taxi fare to the city centre. Owned and managed by the Tamworth Regional Council, the airport is also known as the Tamworth Regional Airport and is the Hunter Region's northern base for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service. Tamworth Airport is also home to a flight training college for BAE Systems.

Tamworth Airport is serviced by two well-known Australian airlines including Brindabella Airlines which operates flights to Brisbane and QantasLink which operates flights to Sydney in partnership with Eastern Australia Airlines. The airport is home to four runways in total, two of which are paved asphalt runways measuring 2,200m x 45m and 1,110m x 18m. The other two are grassed runways with a brown clay surface that measure 1,020m x 30 and 842m x 30m.

There are a variety of convenient services and facilities located at the Tamworth Airport including public amenities and baby change rooms located throughout the airport as well as disabled facilities and baggage trolleys. For all your ground transport needs, there is a taxi rank located immediately outside the terminal and the city centre is just a 10 minute ride away. There are also a range of car hire companies located inside the terminal for an easy and affordable way to get around the city of Tamworth. For those who wish to provide their own transport to and from the airport, there is a range of onsite parking offered free of charge.
