Nusa Dua Region Bali
Nusa Dua is just 40 km south of Bali’s capital, Denpasar, and is renowned for the luxury hotels that cover the peninsula. Famed for its pristine beaches and mild, calm waters Nusa Dua has easy access to be Kuta and Jimbaran Bay allowing you to see more of Bali.
With a focus on the region’s traditional art and culture, Nusa Dua is not characterised by the party atmosphere that surrounds many of central Bali’s holiday destinations. For an authentic Balinese experience you can’t go past the Pasifika Museum, especially if the art forms of Southeast Asia, Bali and the South Pacific interest you. Rarely full, the museum often features exhibitions on the European artists who travelled to Bali as well as the talented local artists.
Turtle Island, or Serangan Island in the native tongue, is a turtle conservation area that protects turtle eggs until they hatch where they are then released onto local beaches. Also home to reptiles, birds, snakes and bats Turtle Island runs glass-bottom boats from Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa providing amazing views of the diverse tropical marine and plant life.

Nusa Dua is a hive of water sports and activities with everything from fly fishing, diving, jet skiing, parasailing and banana boating to simply swimming in the warm clear waters. All of these activities are able to be booked directly on the beach but if you plan ahead your hotel can organise this for you. If you’d prefer to stay on dry land, the Nusa Dua Golf and Country Club is perfect for practising your swing. One of three top golf courses in Bali, the course is usually quite busy so it would be wise to book a tee time at the club itself or through your hotel.
There are plenty of ways to get around Nusa Dua including rental motorbikes and metered taxis which operate 24 hours a day. Whilst hire cars are available it is recommended that opt for a car with fuel and a driver as there is a high level of traffic congestion that can be very overwhelming for those unaccustomed to it. Using a driver is an excellent option as most speak English and can act as a guide while you navigate Nusa Dua, providing local insight.
