As the sun sets on the tropical island holiday destination of Bali, the lively nightlife of this exotic destination begins to emerge. The west coast's Legian, Seminyak and Kuta are where the nightlife is at its hottest, with most bars and nightclubs not really taking off until at least midnight and open until the early hours of the morning. Early on, the evenings start out fairly tame but as the night wears on, the atmosphere builds and some of Bali's most notorious nightlife is set to play.
There are a number of standalone entertainment venues that offer live entertainment and even the odd gig by international bands as well as a great deal of in-house bars at the hotels and resorts that by night transform into dynamic places featuring live DJs, bands, solo artists and even automated playlists that provide the soundtrack to a night of fun.
Bali nightlife also offers a number of alternative venues that offer a good time without focusing so much on the out of control party vibe. These types of places combine spectacular locations and amazing menus to offer a more sophisticated nightlife experience including the Rock Bar at Ayana and Klapa Lounge in Pecatu.
Wherever you choose to spend your nights in Bali, you can bet you'll run into locals and fellow travellers throughout the range of venues on offer. Getting between places is easy with plenty of drivers available and all with a great deal of local knowledge on some of the best night spots on the island.
