The Grand Bali Nusa Dua is a boutique type Balinese style hotel with only approximately 63 rooms built around a central courtyard with two pools. Everything in the hotel is just a few steps away, the pools the dining and the bars. The staff are so friendly and the service is fantastic.
Dining is very inexpensive and although not on the beach they run an hourly shuttle to their own private beach.
My wife took the cooking class - highly recommended and conducted by the executive chef.
No frills but totally relaxing and enjoyable.
The hotel itself was of a good standard, however there are areas that can be improved. The breakfast became boring with little or no variation (for an Australian). The dining was only of an average quality, but at restaurant prices. Bar staff, whilst always pleasant and accommodating, did not at times appear to listen as there were often mistaken drink orders (language was not the issue as we repeated orders clearly). Despite this, staff in general were very helpful and friendly. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, but not a fabulous experience.
So thrilled we were able to stay in this pool access room of a delightful hotel. Staff were fabulous and room was terrific. Really big and comfortable.
Only negative was there is no hair salon and offering in Restaurant is average.
The private beach club is not really private as there were people coming in off the street. There is a limited amount of food available at the beach club and no change room to get into swimmers. Have to use the public facilities a fair walk away. Also it was a pity to see that the beaches were quite dirty with plastic strewn everywhere. Perhaps the hotel should operate a clean up be beach voltuntourism programme like other popular beach destinations.
Will definitely return and highly recommend this magnificent hotel.
